Ellsworth High School

Three art students from Ellsworth High School will travel from the Portland School of Art to Massachusetts College of Art in Boston on Oct. 3. Students Andres Rave, Chris Lynch and Eric Kuhn will present their portfolios to representatives and critics of more than 40 art schools from throughout the country.

Ted Williams and Kelly Cochrane will join other students from eastern Maine in classes offered by the Portland School of Art. The classes will be held on Saturdays, Oct. 3 through Dec. 4, at Hampden High School.

The student publication “New Voices” is now in circulation. Copies of the magazine are available at the high school library or at Ellsworth Public Library. This year’s editor is Kristy Werner.

Ellsworth High’s National Honor Society has elected officers for the 1992-93 school year. Elected were: Amy Sisson, president; Pat Jude, vice president; Shenna Bellows, secretary; and Shauna Esposito, treasurer. Society members will continue to collect cans and bottles for a scholarship fund and will conduct a bottle drive on Saturday, Oct. 24.

The Ellsworth chapter of American Field Service recently sponsored a four-day exchange with AFS students from the Worcester, Mass. area. Twelve students were accompanied by seven adults.
