ROCKLAND — The Lodge of Elks will present a “striking of the colors” program at 11 a.m. Sunday, June 12, at the Elks Lodge on Rankin Street.

The ceremony will be conducted by members of the Elks with the assistance of a color guard from the Rockland Coast Guard. Recognition will be given the American Flag, the Maine Flag and the MIA/POW Flag.

After the ceremony the public is invited to a coffee and doughnuts reception inside the lodge and for a program on the history of the flag. Guest speaker will be Rep. Richard Simoneau of Thomaston. Also participating will be the Exalted ruler of the Rockland Lodge, Gilbert W. Collamore Sr. along with soloist Kevin Young and accompanist James Flanagan, both members of the Rockland Lodge.
