GUILFORD – Tyra Gettleman’s unassisted goal at 17:33 of the second half gave the Orono Red Riots a 1-0 field hockey victory over host Piscataquis here Friday.
Brooke Monberg made five saves on seven shots for the 5-0 Red Riots.
Jen Moore saved eight of nine shots for 2-2 Piscataquis.
Piscataquis won the JV game 5-2.
Stearns 1, John Bapst 0 (OT)
At Millinocket, Marissa Kittrick scored the lone goal at 1:32 into the first overtime period to give host Stearns the win over John Bapst of Bangor.
Kylie Jones assisted on Kittrick’s goal for 2-2 Stearns. Michelle Eubank made four saves on eight shots.
The Crusaders fell to 0-5.
Brewer 3, Foxcroft 1
At Brewer, Jamie Ferris scored two goals to help lead the Witches to the victory over Foxcroft Academy.
For the 4-0 Witches, Alicia Gilmore had a goal and an assist. Heidi Price assisted on a goal, and Allison Lorenz and Tiffany Carlisle assisted on Gilmore’s goal. In goal, Heidi Henderson and Kristy Kimball combined to make 11 saves on 15 shots.
Kylie Kimball scored unassisted for the 1-4 Ponies. Hillary Steinke made 10 saves on 18 shots.
Foxcroft won the JV game 1-0.
Hampden 1, Old Town 0
At Old Town, Shelly Harnish scored unassisted with 3:10 left in the game to ice Hampden’s third victory against two defeats.
Hampden goalie Amy Hafford stopped 13 shots. Christy Danielson made 17 stops for Old Town, 2-2.
Old Town won the JV game 1-0.
Nokomis 4, Bangor 0
At Newport, Sara Davis scored two goals and made an assist to lead the host Nokomis Warriors to the win.
Hope Kurro had a goal and an assist for the 3-2 Warriors. Kelly Deering scored a goal and Toni Johnston had an assist. Heather Deering and Millie MacDonald combined to save six shots.
Jarlyn McNial saved 14 of 18 shots for the 1-4 Rams.
Nokomis won the JV game 2-0.
