BANGOR – The 13th Terry Fox Run, a 5-kilometer charity road race, will bring 1988 U.S. Olympian Bruce Bickford to town for the Sept. 10 event.

The 10 a.m. race will go through the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad yard, beginning at the Best Western White House Inn, with parking available at Dysart’s.

Proceeds from the run will benefit the Breast Cancer Prevention Trial being conducted at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. EMMC is the only hospital in Maine testing the drug Tamoxifen for a five-year period in a national study, which is being overseen by the National Cancer Institute.

The Terry Fox Run has raised more than $30,000 in donations for cancer research in its 12 years in Bangor.
