ROCKLAND — An accident earlier this week was blamed on a driver traveling east on Talbot Avenue who failed to heed a stop sign at the intersection of Union Street.
Rockland Deputy Chief Wally Tower said the accident was reported at 1:26 p.m. Monday. Kenneth Stewart, 48, of Rockland was driving a 1982 Ford van and failed to stop at the intersection. The van struck a 1997 Ford motor home operated by Mary Bready, 46, of Talking Rock, Ga.
Stewart suffered minor injuries. The van had $300 in damage, and the motor home had $3,000 in damage. Stewart was summoned for failure to stop at a stop sign.
