Bay State company recalls 3,300 pounds of chicken salad

Home Made Brand Foods of Newburyport, Mass., is recalling from Maine and other states some 3,300 pounds of chicken salad that may be contaminated with potentially deadly Listeria monocytogenes bacteria, the U.S. Agriculture Department said.

The suspected product is packed in 5-pound and 10-pound containers bearing the Home Made Brand name and the establishment number P-8865 inside the USDA inspection seal.

The salad was produced July 10 and distributed to retail and wholesale establishments in Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.
