Ham scores four to pace Pandas past Woodland > Burton, Searsport win 11th game

WOODLAND – Deidra Ham scored four goals and assisted on the other two to help undefeated Lee Academy post a 6-3 schoolgirl soccer win over Woodland on Thursday.

Jenny Raymond and Ashlee Gifford scored the other goals for 11-0-2 Lee. Goalie Tori Nute made 10 saves on 14 shots.

Jessica Noyes scored twice for the 2-8-2 Dragons. Alicia Vose notched a goal and an assist, and Lauren Troiani made 21 saves on 28 shots.

Searsport 1, Penquis 0

At Milo, Tina Burton scored an unassisted goal five minutes into the game to lift the 11-2 Vikings. The Patriots fell to 6-7.

Holly Gracie made 11 saves on 20 shots for Searsport whille Amanda Martin and Lillian Gerrish combined to stop 18 of 19 shots for Penquis.

Highview Christian 2, Central 1

At Corinth, Heather Niles’ second unassisted goal of the game with four minutes remaining enabled Highview Christian of Charleston to improve its record to 7-1.

Jen Drinkwater made 11 saves on 19 shots for the winners.

Trina Huntley scored off a Crystal Parker pass for 0-13 Central and Jen Allen stopped 18 of 28 shots.

Bangor Christian 6, Sumner 3

At East Sullivan, Renee Mick tallied four goals and one assist to lead the Patriots to their fifth win.

Danielle Miller scored twice for 5-6-2 Bangor Christian. Merideth Moores and Lindsay Dupere had an assist apiece, and Lee-Ann Trottier made 14 saves on 23 shots.

Liz Brunton scored a pair of goals for the 4-9 Tigers. Brittany Dunbar scored the other goal, and Hillary Page made 16 saves on 21 shots.

Bangor 3, Brewer 0

At Bangor, Jana Savage scored a pair of second-half goals off assists from Jlynn Frazier as Bangor upped its record to 12-1-1.

Jenn Towne got the game-winner in the first half off a Shannon Karam pass.

Katherine Miller made four saves on four shots while Amy Freeman rejected 19 of 36 shots for 1-11 Brewer.

Katahdin 1, Schenck 0 (2OT)

At East Millinocket, Ashley Robbins scored an unassisted goal with 3:21 remaining in the second overtime to help the 8-2-2 Cougars of Sherman Station to the win. Schenck fell to 4-5-3.

Mindy Libby stopped all seven shots she faced for the winners. Emily Davis made five saves on six shots for Schenck.

Hampden 7, Caribou 0

At Hampden, Caitlin McCarthy had a pair of goals and an assist, Katie Lindemann scored twice and Alex Hudspeth collected a goal and two assists to help Hampden remain unbeaten.

Amanda Shaw and Samantha Kingsbury had the other goals for the 11-0-3 Broncos and Casey McCluskey had an assist. Emmy Russell and Gabby Schrage weren’t required to make a save.

Leah Drew had 14 stops for 1-11 Caribou.

JV: Hampden 2-1

Calais 1, Washington Academy 0

At East Machias, Katie Frost scored the game’s only goal on a penalty kick 1:22 into the second overtime period to give the Blue Devils the win.

Lanna Martin and Katie Welch teamed up for the shutout with 10 saves on 10 shots. Calais improves to 7-4-1.

For the 1-5-3 Raiders, Miranda Copeland saved 22 of 23 shots.

Boys soccer

Nokomis 3, Hermon 2

At Newport, Trenton Estes tallied a pair of goals as Nokomis tipped Hermon.

Justin Nichols had the other goal for the 6-4-2 Warriors. Shawn Henderson and Avery Horr had an assist each, and Tyler Peters turned aside 13 out of 15 shots.

Gaston Pineiro scored off a penalty kick for 4-6-3 Hermon. Gavin Speaker scored off a Matt Riendeau assist, and Matt Watson made nine saves on 12 shots.

JV: 0-0

GSA 2, Searsport 1

At Blue Hill, Corey Black and Baren Yurchick scored the goals to help the Eagles soar over Searsport.

Will Reuter and Hans Reuter had an assist apiece for 7-3-1 George Stevens. Isaac Chittenden made six saves on nine shots.

Ben Relyea scored an unassisted goal for the 4-6-3 Vikings. Jacob Manner made nine saves on 16 shots.

MDI 5, Old Town 0

At Mount Desert Island, Myles Jordan scored twice to help the Trojans blank the Indians.

Mike Bucklin and Liam Caine had a goal and assist each for 7-4-2 MDI. Nate Montminy scored the other goal for the winners. Andrew Joseph, James Hopkins and Kyle Jones had an assist apiece. Ben Sekulich made six saves on eight shots.

John Graves stopped 14 of 29 shots for 2-9-1 Old Town.

JV: MDI 4-2

Calais 4, Narraguagus 0

At Calais, Jamie Barnard and Andy Frost notched two goals apiece to lead Calais to the win.

Frost and Zach Gillespie had an assist each for 8-3-1 Calais. Nathan Pelletier made eight saves on 10 shots.

Eric Peltier stopped eight of the 15 shots he faced for the 4-7 Knights of Harrington.

Field hockey

Belfast 3, MCI 1

At Belfast, Amber Billings scored three goals as Belfast edged Maine Central Institute in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference battle.

Kate Gale paced the 10-2 Lions with two assists. Kelsey Bryant had an assist of her own, and goalies Kristina Lane and Tasha Scott combined to make 11 saves on 12 shots.

Heidi Andrews scored an unassisted goal for the 7-4-1 Huskies of Pittsfield. Sarah Sinclair made 13 saves on 16 shots.

JV: Belfast 1-0

John Bapst 4, Hermon 2

At Bangor, Catherine DelVecchio led the Bapst charge with three goalsas the Crusaders won.

Kristina Atkinson scored the other goal for 6-5-1 John Bapst. Ann Sullivan contributed a pair of assists. Logan Rich and Courtney Freeman helped the cause with assists of their own, and Julia Sleeper made 13 saves on 18 shots.

Erin Lucey paced the Hermon attack with a pair of goals. Lindsey Guerette and Noelle O’Clair had an assist apiece. Kacie Hutchinson stopped 14 of the 21 shots she face. The Hawks slipped to 3-9.
