PORTLAND – Two men in ski masks robbed a Portland apartment Thursday night, making off with cash and prescription drugs, police said.
The men, whose names have not been released, are accused of breaking into a first-floor apartment on Cumberland Avenue just after 6 p.m.
Police said the men threatened the occupant of the apartment with a baseball bat, then ran into the bedroom and stole a safe. They also said the apartment door was not locked.
The man in the apartment, who was baby-sitting his girlfriend’s young children, got the license plate number of the car the men were driving. Police tracked the two men to Auburn, where they were brought in for questioning.
Charges are expected to be filed.
