University of Maine junior running back Marcus Williams was named Atlantic 10 Football Conference co-offensive player of the week along with Massachusetts receiver Jason Peebler. Williams ran the ball 21 times for 246 yards and four touchdowns in a victory over Morgan State Saturday.

University of Maine freshman quarterback Ron Whitcomb was named Atlantic 10 Football Conference rookie of the week after throwing for a career-high 319 yards and three touchdowns as he completed 13 of 21 passes in a 77-24 victory over Morgan State Saturday.

University of Maine freshman kick and punt returner Arel Gordon was named Atlantic 10 Football Conference special teams player of the week after becoming the first player in school history to return a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the same game. He opened the scoring in a 77-24 win over Morgan State with a 75-yard punt return and returned a kickoff 100 yards (another school record) to become the first A-10 player this season to return a kick and punt for TDs in the same game.
