CALAIS — Preschool pupils from Donna Harvey’s “It’s a Small World” Preschool in Baileyville visited Calais Regional Hospital last week to learn about the role the hospital plays in the community. The students toured the hospital as part of Harvey’s community-awareness project.
“It’s important to expose young children to the hows and whys of health care to enrich their knowledge,” Harvey said. “Children often fear these professionals because the situation is new and they don’t know what to expect.”
Vivian Bridges, director of public relations for CRH, said that the youngsters’ tour of the hospital had showed them that it was filled with many caring people who were there to make patients feel better.
