ELLSWORTH — A $500 adult scholarship will be awarded by the Maine Retired Teachers Association to an individual preparing for a career in teaching.

A letter of application including biographical and personal information, transcript of previous education experience, name of the institution where current study is being done and three references should be sent to Deale Salsbury, 34 West Main Street, Ellsworth 04605.

The MRTA will also award scholarships to high school seniors who plan to teach in Maine and who are graduating in the upper quarter of their class. Deadline for applications is Monday, April 16.
