The American Heart Association, Penobscot Division, will sponsor a telepledge fund-raiser to raise money for cardiovascular disease Wednesday and Thursday, April 4 and 5, at the New England Telephone Co. Building, 77 Exchange St.

The goal will be to reach 700 homes to raise $4,000 when volunteers make calls from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Callers Wednesday will be volunteers from the Business and Professional Women’s Club, and Tuesday Forum, and Thursday callers will be from the Bangor Kiwanis Breakfast Club and Hermon Kiwanis.

Chairman of the event is Dawn Baumer, and vice chairman is Mary Guyot, president of the Penobscot Division. New England Telephone is supporting the telemarketing effort. John P. McCatherine is regional manager of external affairs for New England Telephone.
