ORONO — International Week is being observed until Saturday, April 7, at the University of Maine with a variety of events and programs that are free and open to the public.
The annual observance, sponsored by International Student Programs and other UM divisions and organizations, recognizes and celebrates the growing multinational cultures at the university.
A total of 414 international students representing 72 countries are attending the university this year, up from 125 in 1985 and an increase of 40 percent from the fall of 1988.
