Hodgdon High School lists graduating class honor parts

HODGDON — Woodrow Dunphy, principal at Hodgdon High School, has announced that Susie Ann Farrar and Tracy Lynn Saunders, both of Hodgdon, are the valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively, for the Class of 1990 at Hodgdon High School.

Farrar is the daughter of Rodney and Irene Farrar. She is a representative to the student council, has served as a member of the athletic council, manager of the softball team and baseball team, received her letter in basketball, was a member of the Varsity Club during her freshman and sophomore years, has been a member of the yearbook staff, a magazine drive captain, and is a member of the school chapter of Students Against Driving Drunk.

During her sophomore year, she received a biology award and was the Bausch and Lomb honorary science award winner during her junior year. She was chosen to represent the school at Dirigo Girls State, received the University of Maine Academic Achievement Award, and was chosen to attend Maine Scholars Day. She also was elected to be president of the National Honor Society for 1990.

Farrar has been accepted at the University of New Hampshire where she will study liberal arts.

Saunders is the daughter of Keith and Rhonda Saunders. She is a member of the National Honor Society and received an honor letter during her sophomore year. During her junior year she received honors as the best student typist and for shorthand and accounting.

Others class honors announced by Dunphy are: Angela Tidd, daughter of Carleton and Andrea Tidd of Hodgdon, first honor; Anjeanette Lynne Stairs, daughter of Gary and Lynn Stairs of Ludlow, second honor; and Charlene Eve Gregor, daughter of Francis and Mary Gregor of Hodgdon.
