MILO — Karen Clark and Jayne Farrin, co-chairmen of the SKIP Committee, Support Kids In Play, held a meeting Tuesday at the Milo Elementary School. The purpose of the committee is to raise funds to build a creative playground for the Milo Elementary School.

Members attending voted to hold a skate-athon from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 14, at the Skateway Roller Rink in Milo. Pledge sheets are available at the Milo Elementary School and from SKIP Committee members.

Members voted that all pupils or adults who raised more than $50 in pledges would have their choice of a SKIP T-shirt or a SKIP Cookbook.

A discussion was held about the committee’s sponsoring an aerobathon, under the direction of Cindy Herbest, who sponsors aerobics classes for the Milo Recreation Department. Herbest will be contacted to determine if she would be willing to assist with the event.

Members voted to sponsor a table at the annual Memorial Weekend Flea Market and Sidewalk Sale sponsored by the Milo Business Asociation. Plans for the table would be completed at a later meeting.

Attending the meeting were Jane Skehan, retired elementary principal, and Sheilah Bissell, Farrin and Clark.
