WATERVILLE – The Colby College White Mules swept the Clark University Cougars in a doubleheader here Saturday 20-2 and 21-11.

In the first game, the White Mules were led by Tom Griffin who singled twice and hit a grand slam in the fifth. He finished with 6 RBIs.

John Brockman chipped in with 4 hits for the winners, including a double. Mitch Rogers, Jason Shulman and David Batchelder all had 3 singles apiece. Starting pitcher Todd O’Connor recorded the win to up his record to 2-0.

Dave Sanfacon, Pat Kopka, Jeff Eliot, Jeff Coveney, Mike Ambeliotis and Chris Gentile all singled for Clark in the first game.

Batchelder led Colby to the win in the second game with 4 hits, including a two-run homer in the first and a two-run homer in the third. Frank Toce contributed a homer and 4 singles, Rogers singled, doubled and hit a three-run homer, and Griffin hit a two-run homer.

Brian Garvey notched the win and is now 1-0 while Colby goes to 4-4.

For Clark, now 3-10, Chris Gentile hit a solo homer, Tony Perrier singled and doubled and Chad Fenosk hit 2 singles.
