STOCKTON SPRINGS — Selectmen recently returned most of the town’s previously appointed municipal workers to their positions.
Reappointed were Horace Seekins, road commissioner; Donald Sanborn, fire chief; and Merylin Smith, health officer and code enforcement officer.
Seekins told selectmen that he probably would not seek appointment as road and streets commissioner after this year.
Theodore Reed will continue as police chief, and Phyllis Hall was appointed ambulance captain for another year.
Selectmen voted to clear the ambulance books of an accumulated debt that was impossible to collect. Selectman Earle Brooks explained that the service was extended without cost to residents, except for patients who were covered by insurance or Medicare.
George Peckham was continued as chairman of the Planning Board. Ralph Grimes will replace John Thornton as head of the Zoning Board of Appeals. Thornton retired.
