Cindy Bowen, a native of Carmel, has won the Lincoln County Community Theater’s contest for a new logo. Bowen is a free-lance illustrator and designer in Portland.

Her prize-winning design, combining musical symbols with the traditional masks of comedy and tragedy, was selected by a vote of members attending the theater group’s annual meeting.

The contest drew 17 entries from artist-designers in seven cities and towns.

Bowen holds a degree in advertising design from Chamberlayne Junior College in Boston. She has lived in Portland for the past three years. Among her clients is the Thorndike Press of Thorndike, for which she designs book jackets.
