Young people from the Bangor area are taking advantage of opportunities to travel to Children’s International Summer Villages in numerous locations this year. There are many to chose from — a total of 53 villages in 26 countries around the world. Founded by Old Town native Doris Twitchell Allen, CISV has sponsored villages around the world since 1951. This summer, the Maine Chapter will hold its second international summer village in Old Town. Delegations from 12 countries, including Romania, Australia and Guatemala, have been invited.
