BATH — What did sailors really think of women?

Mary Malloy will teach a maritime studies course on “The Lore of the Sea” at the Maine Maritime Museum at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 9. She will talk about “Women and the Sea” by using examples of artwork and song to show sailors’ perceptions of women.

In addition to her position as teaching fellow in American civilization at Brown University, Malloy is an adjunct curator at Kendall Whaling Museum in Sharon, Mass. and has worked with the Peabody Museum in Salem, Mass.

The lecture is free to members, $4.50 to non-members.
