SKOWHEGAN — The SAD 54 Community Forum will present “Understanding Maine’s Workers’ Compensation Laws,” a panel presentation with moderator Zachary Matthews, state senator; and panel members James MacMichael, lawyer with MacMichael and Talbot; Patricia VanHorn, administrative director, Industrial Medicine Program; and Dan Ferguson, assistant manager of claims, Sedgewick James, at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at Skowhegan High School.

Questions to be addressed include: Why are Workers’ Compensaion costs continually rising? Why have there been no reductions in insurance premiums since reforms of ’84 and ’87? How can we speed up the claims process and delivery of services for the injured worker?
