SCARBOROUGH — The Associated Fisheries of Maine elected new officers and a new board of directors at its annual meeting recently.

Jeff Kaelin of the Maine Sardine Council was elected president, Roger Woodman of Roger Woodman Associates in Portland was elected vice president, and Paul MacFarland of F.J. O’Hara in Rockland was elected treasurer.

The directors-at-large are Daniel Hudkins of Ellis Paperboard in Scarborough; Ed Blackmore of the Maine Lobsterman’s Association; Barbara Stephenson of Otonka Inc. in Portland; Ray Cronk of C.E. Shepherd Co. in Damariscotta; Ray Smith of Maine Fish in Portland; and Bob Waddle of Quahog Lobster Co. in Brunswick.

AFM is an association of vessel owners, processors, lobster dealers and allied businesses. It provides a forum for members to meet and work together on issues of interest to the industry.

The next meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, at the Atrium Restaurant in Brunswick. The guest speaker will be the fisheries minister of the province of New Brunswick, Canada. Anyone interested in the fishing industry is welcome.
