Chorus to give concert Sunday

At the end of its first full season of activities, the Northern Conservatory Chorus in Bangor looks forward to its spring concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 20, at John Bapst Memorial High School.

The concert, “A Montage of Music,” will include “The Lion Sleeps Tonight,” “Black Is the Color of My True Love’s Hair,” “Georgia on My Mind,” “Save the Bones for Henry Jones,” “Satin Doll” and “When I Fall in Love.”

No admission will be charged. For information, call the conservatory at 947-8171.

The chorus, which practices Sunday evenings, was organized last fall by staff of the Northern Conservatory of Music and the Performing Arts. Bronwyn Kortge directs the chorus, and Richard Pasvogel is the accompanist.

The chorus of community members was particularly busy at Chrismastime, performing at the lighting of the Christmas tree and during “The Messiah” sing-along.
