CALAIS — The Katahdin Area Health Education Center, the University of Maine at Presque Isle, the Veterans Administration Cooperative Health Education Program and the Maine Consortium for Health Professions Education will sponsor daylong workshops titled “Breaking Down Communication Barriers in Health Care.” Walter F. Grady of Topsham, a private consultant and certified trainer in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Knowledge, will conduct the workshop. The workshops will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the following locations:
Wednesday May 23, at the Washington County Technical College on River Road in Calais.
Thursday May 24, in the McCain Room at the Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle.
Tuesday June 5, at the Ramada Inn at 1230 Congress St., Portland.
Wednesday June 6, at the Ramada Inn at 490 Pleasant St., Lewiston.
Thursday June 7, at the Coastline Inn on Western Avenue in Augusta.
The workshop will introduce participants to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, a valuable tool for understanding team members’ natural strengths and operating styles, and help participants improve their effectiveness in breaking down communication barriers with patients and team members.
This certificated one-day program is open to health administrators and managers, staff nurses, allied health professionals, and other interested individuals.
