MACHIAS
The following cases, released May 15, were processed during the March term of Washington County Superior Court, with Justice Robert Browne of Bangor presiding:
Eugene Antone, 46, Pembroke, assault, $250 fine; criminal mischief, dismissed as defendant has made full restitution to the victim.
Philip Armstrong, 47, Machias, operating after suspension, dismissed. The defendant’s suspension was stayed by the secretary of state pending an administrative appeal under circumstances which reasonably led him to believe Armstrong was licensed to drive.
Scott Brown, 20, Calais, passing a roadblock and eluding police, 18 months with the Department of Corrections, all but six months suspended, probation for two years with the conditions of not operating a motor vehicle during the first year of probation, no use of alcohol, and a $1,000 fine; speeding and driving to endanger, six months in jail, all to run concurrently.
Daniel W. Cirone, 25, Addison, habitual offender, one year in jail, all but 60 days suspended, two years’ probation with conditions of counseling, and restitution not to exceed $2,070 and counsel fees of $350; operating under the influence of intoxicating liquor, 10 days in jail, to run concurrently, $500 fine and license suspended for one year.
Stanley Crandall, 29, Machias, two counts of being a habitual offender, one year in Washington County Jail, all but 60 days suspended, probation for one year with conditions of alcohol-abuse counseling and no driving without a license, $300 fine, sentences to run concurrently.
Michael Croteau, 18, Pittsfield, five counts of burglary, two years with the Department of Corrections, all but six months suspended, two years’ probation, counseling, $738 restitution, condition of probation must pay $500 toward counsel fees; theft, theft by unauthorized use (two counts), criminal mischief (three counts), criminal trespass (three counts), six months in jail, to run concurrently.
Daniel Granmaison, 21, Pittsfield, five counts of burglary, 18 months with the Department of Corrections, all but 90 days suspended, probation for two years with condition of counseling, restitution of $738 and $400 counsel fees; theft, theft by unauthorized use (two counts), criminal mischief (three counts), criminal trespass (three counts), 90 days in jail, to run concurrently.
Terrence D. Grant, 38, Addison, charge of hunting without hunter orange was dismissed as a de minimis infraction.
Richard J. Green, 43, Caribou, habitual offender, two years in jail, all but nine months suspended, probation for two years with conditions of alcohol counseling and paying fine within six months; operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor, 30 days in Washington County Jail, to run concurrently, $500 fine, license suspended for 90 days.
Anthony W. Hall, 25, Milbridge, artificial lighting, $200 fine and counsel fees of $120; night hunting was dismissed because of plea on other charge.
Bruce S. Hall, 22, Milbridge, artificial lighting, $200 fine and $200 counsel fees; night hunting dismissed because of plea on other charge.
H.C. Haynes Inc., Winn, operating motor vehicle exceeding gross weight limit, guilty plea, $235 fine.
Clyne A. Labree, 22, Milo, operating after suspension, $300 fine.
Galen Larrabee, 20, Pittsfield, five counts of burglary, 18 months with Department of Corrections, two years’ probation with conditions of counseling, restitution of $738 and $400 to court for attorney’s fees; theft, theft by unauthorized use (two counts), criminial mischief, (three counts), criminal trespass (three counts), 90 days in jail, to run concurrently.
Mary L. Lutz, 34, Deblois, unlawful furnishing of scheduled drug, 11 months in Washington County Jail, all but 20 days suspended, $800 fine, one year of probation with conditions of restitution: drug analysis, counseling, and search and seizures; unlawful trafficking in scheduled drug dismissed because of plea and sentence on other charge.
Brian Michaud, 27, Millinocket, aggravated criminal mischief, six months in Washington County jail, all suspended, one year of probation with conditions of restitution and fine and restitution paid within six months.
William Moholland, 22, Princeton, criminal mischief, six months in Washington County Jail, all suspended, $500 fine, one year of probation with conditions of alcohol screening, restitution, and no possession of alcohol; second charge of criminal mischief dismissed because of plea on other charge.
Christopher Monk, 19, Vanceboro, eluding police, nine months in Washington County Jail, all but three months suspended; driving to endanger, 30 days in jail, license suspended for six months; speeding and false public report, 30 days in jail; to run concurrently.
David Moore, 37, Princeton, guiding without a license, 48 hours in Washington County Jail, $1,000 fine.
Kenneth Newell, 29, Pleasant Point, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, dismissed because of insufficient evidence.
Eric P. Peltier, 29, Milbridge, artificial lighting, $200 fine and counsel fees of $230; escape, $50 fine; night hunting dismissed because of plea and sentence for artificial lighting.
Wallace J. Preston, 36, Machias, disorderly conduct, criminal trespass, and obstructing government administration. Sentenced to 30 days in Washington County Jail on all three charges, sentences to run concurrently.
Wayne A. Ritchie, 28, Pembroke, driving to endanger, six months in Washington County Jail, all but 14 days suspended, one year of probation with conditions of alcohol counseling, no drinking and driving, $350 fine, 90-day suspension of license; failure to stop for an officer, six months in jail, one year of probation, both to run concurrently; charges of assault and criminal trespass, dismissed, witnesses unavailable.
Rod Rodriguez, 64, Machias, operating without a license, $50 fine.
Roger Sockabasin, 24, Pleasant Point, burglary and theft, one year with Department of Corrections; criminal trespass and criminal mischief, six months in jail, sentences to run consecutively.
David Taylor, 28, Bethel, habitual offender, six months in jail, all but 90 days suspended, probation for one year, $1,000 fine, license suspended for two years; operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor, 90 days in jail, to run concurrently. Conditions of probation are to pay fine within six months, submit to testing and not operate a motor vehicle.
Harold Tenney, 30, Harrington, assault, 60 days in Washington County Jail, all but 10 days suspended; aggravated assault, dismissed because of plea and sentence on other charge.
Allen Tomah, 41, Pleasant Point, burglary and theft, three years with Department of Corrections; criminal trespass and criminal mischief, six months in jail, to run concurrently.
Tensey Trennam, 22, Veazie, theft by receiving stolen property, case dismissed by court for lack of jurisdiction.
Richard Wallace, 29, Machias, criminal mischief, six months in Washington County Jail; assault, six months in jail; habitual offender, two years in jail, all but eight months suspended, probation for two years with conditions of $750 fine to be paid within first six months of probation, alcohol counseling, no possession of alcohol and no operation of a motor vehicle unless duly licensed; operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor, six months in jail, $750 fine and license suspended for one year, sentences to run concurrently.
Marshall Wormell, 46, Lubec, closed-season violation, three days in Washington County Jail and $1,000 fine; closed-season violation (two counts), 10 days in jail and $1,000 fine, to run concurrently.
Operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor: Stuart Crosby, 26, Jonesport, 48 hours in Washington County Jail, license suspended for 90 days, and $350 fine; George Folland, 32, Princeton, 48 hours in Washington County Jail, $350 fine, license suspended for 90 days; Steven W. Lord, 38, Lubec, 48 hours in Washington County Jail, $350 fine, license suspended for 90 days; Louis J. Rubino, 31, Lewiston, $350 fine, license suspended for 30 days; Jeffrey Smiley, 28, Princeton, $350 fine, license suspended for 90 days.
Habitual offender: Larry S. Rodgers, 23, Charlotte, six months in Washington County Jail; James A. Roe, 25, Biddeford, 10 days in Washington County Jail, $500 fine; Rickey L. Sabourin, 26, Addison, habitual offender, jury verdict of innocent; Robert R. Suitter, 27, Danforth, 30 days in Washington County Jail, $250 fine; Frederick Williams, 25, Baileyville, 60 days in Washington County Jail, $300 fine, second count of being habitual offender dismissed because of plea and sentence on other charge; Robert Wooldridge, 25, Addison, 90 days in Washington County Jail and $700 fine.
Assault: Daniel Frost, 39, Brewer, $150 fine; Richard Hall Jr., 60, Eastport, $100 fine; Craig Pelkey, 22, Eastport, $250 fine; Patricia A. Torrey, 40, Woodland, filed for one year.
