NEWPORT– Boy Scouts in Troop 63 of Newport attended the Spring Camporee in East Millinocket on May 18, 19 and 20.

The theme of the camporee was “Forestry in Maine” and included a tour of the Great Northern Paper Co., log-rolling events, and using a two-man saw.

Troop 63 won first place for its campsite and second place for its gateway.

Scouts attending were: Mike LeMire, Jeremy Bragg, Mike Carnabucci, Brett Munster, Patrick Beasley, Maurice Beasley, Peter Brown, Andy Pinkham, Arthur Wood, Aaron McGinnis, Ricky Gagnon, Jesse Curtis, and Joe Satterfield, senior patrol leader from Corinna.

Adult leaders were Ted Bragg, Maurice Beasley, Ron Curtis and Phil Brown.
