A Hampden man who allegedly hit his girlfriend in the face with a baseball bat was arrested in Hampden Tuesday night

Hampden Police Officer Paul White said Virgil McLaughlin, 54, of Ray’s Trayler Park, was apparently upset with his girlfriend because she hid his car.

White said McLaughlin had allegedly been drinking and his girlfriend was afraid he was going to try to drive. mcLaughlin got angry and alleghedly struck her with the bat. White said the woman suffered a black eye, a split lip and a bruised cheek bone.

McLaughlin was charged with aggravated assault and was taken to Penobscot County Jail.

A Hampden man was arrested Wednesday night in Hampden after he allegedly held an unloaded gun to his girlfriend’s head and pulled the trigger.

The girlfriend called police who then arrested David Carter, 31, of Crestwood Trailer Park. Carter was charged with criminal threatening with a firearm. He was taken to Penobscot County Jail and was being held in lieu of $5,000 double-surety bail or $500 cash.

Allen Perley, 24, Carmel, was arrested in Bangor and Charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor. He was taken to Penobscot County Jail and was scheduled to appear in 3rd District Court on June 26.

It was reported that someone broke into St. Mary’s School in Bangor Tuesday night. Police reported that someone entered the school through a window and threw textbooks in fish tanks and urinated on two teacher’s desks. Damage was estimated at $200.
