CUTLER — The Naval Communication Unit Cutler will sponsor a safety fair from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, June 21, according to an announcement by E.A. Robinson, public affairs officer.
The public is being invited to attend the safety fair which will feature events designed to interest all ages. The event will be held rain or shine, and refreshments will be available for purchase throughout the day. The scheduled events will include:
9-10:30 a.m.: electrical safety demonstrations by the Occupational Safety Health Administration.
9 a.m.-2 p.m.: Seat Belt Convincer and Child Safety Restraints by the Maine Department of Highway Safety.
9 a.m.-2:30 p.m.: boating safety by the U.S. Coast Guard at Jonesport; equipment display by Eastern Fire and Safety; forest fire prevention, Smokey Bear, by the Maine Forestry Department at Jonesboro; multipurpose vehicle by the Maine National Guard Unit at Calais.
9 a.m.-3 p.m.: lawn mower safety demonstration; fire prevention; and home fire safety and child locator decals.
10 a.m.-2 p.m.: blood pressure checks.
10:30-11 a.m.: CPR demonstrations.
11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: electrical safety demonstrations.
12:30-1 p.m.: firearm safety.
1-2 p.m.: CPR demonstrations.
2-3 p.m.: climbing demonstration.
3-3:30 p.m.: firearm safety.
