DOVER-FOXCROFT — A memorial was held at a recent meeting of Miriam Chapter 40, Order of the Eastern Star. The charter also was draped for Adora M. Leach, past grand matron, and Harold L. Berce, a member.

Honored guests were Donald Nelder and Kenneth Jones, past grand patrons; Vernal Blakely, grand sentinel; Heather Woods, district deputy grand matron of District 17, Phyllis Blakely of District 18, and Adrienne Strout, grand representative to Saskatchewan.

The following invitations were read: from Mystic Chapter of Litchfield for its 90th birthday on June 7; from Winnegance Chapter of Yarmouth for a June 23 reception for Alicia Watson, worthy grand matron; to a Grand Family night on June 16 at Wiscasset; to a reception for Gretchen Brissette, grand organist at Lunar Chapter in Presque Isle on Sept. 7; to Fidelity Chapter of Houlton for a Grand Family night on Sept. 8; and to Garrison Hill Chapter of Wiscasset to a reception on Sept. 22, for Vincent Reed, worthy grand patron.

A letter was read from the Delay Supreme Council announcing its conclave on June 22-24 in Winthrop. Letters of appreciation were read from Phyllis Berce and Juanita Smith.

Grand Chapter reports were given by Heather Woods, worthy matron. Star Point Night will be observed on June 25. Lady officers are to wear colored gowns. The refreshment committee will be Kenneth Jones, Kathleen Jones, Jane Pratt, Marion Doore and Elizabeth Chase.
