University of Maine Clinics
ORONO – The University of Maine will host a series of field hockey clinics this summer. Information may be obtained from Jeri Waterhouse, head field hockey coach of the University of Maine:
June 24-25: USFHA Coaches Clinic. Clinicians are Karen Weaver, head coach at Ohio State and president of the College Field Hockey Coaches Association, and Pam Bustin, member of the 1990 National Team. USFHA member cost is $45. Register through USFHA.
June 25-26: USFHA Officials Clinic. Clinician is Sandy Goldthorpe, a recent recipient of a Grade I International rating from the Federation of International Hockey. Register through USFHA or on site at Maine. The cost is approximately $45 for USFHA members.
June 24-28: USFHA Olympic Development “D” Camp for high school uperclassmen where players are selected for the Junior Olympic Games to be held July 28-Aug. 4 in Tampa, Florida. Two players will also be given scholarships to move on to “C” Camp the following week. (This camp is already filled to capacity).
July 1-5: USFHA Olympic Development “C” Camp for college players and high school graduates. It is the beginning level for selection to National Teams. Players are selected to attend “B” Camps.
August 12-14: University of Maine Keeper Camp for any age or level goalkeeper, except for graduating high school seniors. The fee is $155 for overnight campers and $110 for day campers.

Central Maine Camp at Colby College
The ninth annual Central Maine Field Hockey Camp will be held July 30-Aug. 3 at Colby College from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. The camp will teach fundamentals, techniques, and team play. Each player will receive individual and group instruction. The daily program includes morning and afternoon sessions, swim time, films, and lectures. The week concludes with a camp tournament and awards program. The cost is $95 per player with group rates available for teams. Contact Debby Pluck, Colby College, at 872-3372 or 873-4348.
