ROCKLAND — The SAD 5 School Board has asked the Knox County Superior Court to dismiss a suit brought by fired teacher Patti Marxsen. Marxsen sought reinstatement in her suit against the school district.

In an answer filed Wednesday, SAD 5 officials said Marxsen was a probationary teacher who had no contractual right to employment. The court lacks jurisdiction in the case, the school district argued. The school district stated that it is covered by the Maine Tort Claims Act.
