ROCKLAND — The Hillhaven Corp. has recognized Rockland Convalescent Center with a Gold Award for exceptional performance in a recent survey conducted by state nursing home officials for the purposes of annual licensing certification.

Hillhaven’s Gold Award is presented to those nursing centers which, in a national compilation of such surveys, excel in more than 600 performance elements outlined by the survey.

“We’re proud to receive this prestigious Gold Award because it measures all the criteria so critical to providing excellence in patient care,” said Jo An Perreault, administrator of Rockland Convalescent Center. “The recently published Health Care Finance Administration (HCFA) annual report card only considers 32 of the performance indicators, while Hillhaven weighs all the factors that influence quality long-term care delivery.”

Rockland Convalescent Center, located near the historic breakwater and lighthouse, is a small, personal, healthcare facility. Recently redecorated, it boasts a sunny dining room where “home-cooked” meals on linen tablecloths by waitresses.

The well-trained nursing staff provide individualized care in a state-of-the-art “restraint-free’ environment.

The Rockland Convalescent Center is part of The Hillhaven Corporation, based in Tacoma, Wash., which operated 345 quality nursing centers throughout the country.
