Noyes and Farley spark Acadians

ORONO – The Mount Desert Island Acadians defeated the Old Town-Orono Twins 4-1 in Zone 1 American Legion Baseball action Sunday.

Dan Noyes led the 2-1 Acadians with a double and a single. Pitcher Paul Farley (1-1) went seven innings to earn the win. His record is now 1-1 and Robbie Shea pitched two shutout innings for his first save.

For the 2-2 Twins, Steve Coombs doubled and singled and Rick Wickett singled twice. Wickett was the hard-luck loser, allowing no earned runs on five hits, striking out 11 and walking three while going the distance.
