Skowhegan blanks Massabesic

LITCHFIELD – Jen Wardwell of Bucksport threw a 3-hitter and struck out 7 to lead Skowhegan to a 1-0 victory over Massabesic in the Junior Olympics Jubilee 16-under A.S.A. softball tournament this weekend. For Skowhegan, Kim Getchell doubled, singled and had an RBI. Getchell doubled to score the only run in the third inning.

Skowhegan drops Litchfield

LITCHFIELD – Jess Laney tripled, doubled, singled and had 5 RBIs to lead Skowhegan to a 7-2 win over Litchfield here Sunday in the 14-under Junior Olympics Jubilee A.S.A. softball tournament. For Skowhegan, Beth Young had a triple, 2 singles and 2 RBIs while Wendy Atwood added a double, a single and 3 RBIs. For Litchfield, Mary Morin hit 2 singles.
