A Linneus man who reportedly performed indecent acts in public in Old Town and Brewer was arrested in Brewer Thursday morning. Brewer police reported that Henry Suitter, 60, was charged after an incident at the Brewer Shopping Center. Old Town police reportedly heard of the arrest and determined that Suitter was also the man who allegedly was involved in two similar incidents in Old Town on Wednesday. Old Town police charged Suitter with two counts of public indecency.
Brewer police reported that they summoned Suitter for the charge, but then discovered that his license to operate a motor vehicle was under suspension. Suitter was reportedly warned not to drive and proceeded to drive away from the police station. He was then arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while his license was under suspension. He was taken to Penobscot County Jail and was released on $125 cash bail.
Ernest Roy, 24, Old Town, was arrested in Old Town and charged with operating a motor vehicle while his license was under suspension.
An employee of Nynex Material Enterprises reported that between 9 p.m. and midnight Wednesday someone broke into two company vehicles and stole two CB radios. The cars were parked at the company’s office at 167 Target Industrial Circle in Bangor. The radios were valued at $300 and damage was estimated at $300.
A resident of Warren Street in Bangor reported that someone girdled a silver maple tree on her lawn. Other trees had been cut slightly with an ax. Damage was estimated at $500.
Sam Hartley, 23, of 1932 Union St., Bangor, was arrested in Bangor and charged with violation of a protection order. He was taken to Penobscot County Jail and was scheduled to appear in 3rd District Court on Aug. 10.
Officer Russell Twaddell Jr. of the Bangor Police Department had to stop a truck that was traveling backwards on Park Street without a driver. Twaddell was on patrol at 1 p.m. when he saw the 1988 Ford Ranger. Twaddell stopped and place a rock behind the wheel and was able to stop the truck. The truck was then towed.
