An employee of Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor saved the life of a Bangor man after he broke his neck while diving into a pool.
Timothy George, 27, 70 Juniper St., Bangor, jumped into a pool at the home of Kelly Stubbs, 30, 255 Palm St. in Bangor. Witnesses saw George float to the top and then begin to sink.
Another Bangor man, Robert Vachon, pulled George from the pool and noticed that George was not breathing and had no pulse. Stubbs, who police said is an EMMC employee, performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on George for about one minute until the unconscious man began to breathe.
George was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Bangor, where he was listed in guarded condition Sunday evening, according to a nursing supervisor.
It was not known what position Stubbs holds at EMMC, and she declined comment on the incident Sunday evening.
Tom Beede, 23, 661 Finson Road, Bangor, was arrested by Bangor police and charged with assault.
James Coburn, 23, Griffin Road, Bangor, was arrested by Bangor police and charged with disorderly conduct.
Richard Glidden, 75, Orono, was arrested by Bangor police and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor.
Two Bangor juveniles, both 11, were arrested by Bangor police after breaking into a Bangor accounting office. The two were searching for soda and planned to “look around,” according to a police report. One of the youths first broke the window with his skateboard, and the other widened the hole with a rock.
