A Dedham man and two others were taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor Sunday night after being injured in a boating accident on Phillips Lake.
Lee Corro of Dedham, age unknown, was operating his 18-foot boat in Phillips Lake in Dedham Saturday evening when he apparently hit the wake from another boat and became airborne. When he came down, he appeared to lose control, and began heading toward shore, according to Warden Charles Marshall of the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.
After the boat hit the wake, one of two passengers fell from the boat.
Marshall said that the incident was under investigation, but it appeared that the boat had a mechanical malfunction. As the boat headed for shore, Corro and the other passenger jumped from it.
One passenger, Kathy Andrle, age and address unknown, was listed in fair condition at EMMC. The other, John Hess, was treated and released. Corro was listed in fair condition, according to a nursing supervisor.
