ROCKLAND — Michael W. Marriner was installed as the 66th president of the Rockland Rotary Club on Friday July 6. He succeeds Edward G. Kolmosky as the leader of the local service organization for the ensuing year.
In relinquishing his gavel, Kolmosky cited accomplishments during his tenure year, and attributed his success in fund-raising events to the membership.
Marriner is a native of Camden and graduated from the Camden-Rockport High School, and obtained an associate degree in civil engineering from the University of Maine at Orono. He has been employed by Marriners, Inc., specialists in asphalt paving since 1974. He is currently vice president of the company. Marriner plans several new projects in the codmmunity’s interests.
Serving with Marriner are James H. Hawkins, president-elect; James H. Ash, vice president; Don Kilgour, secretary; Gardner L. Brown, assistant secretary; Winfield L. Chatto, treasurer; and Robert s. Ehmann, assistant treasurer and retiring president.
The Rockland Rotary was charted in 1924 and is one of 24,826 Rotary Clubs in 168 countries and geographic regions with a total membership of 1,090,361.
