AUGUSTA — The Maine Affiliate of the National Council on Alcoholism and Other Drug Dependence in Maine Inc. has named Adele Donovan of Portland as recipient of the 1990 Maine Marty Mann Award.

The award will be presented at the annual dinner meeting of the National Council on Alcoholism at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, at the Senator Inn, Augusta.

Guest speaker will be Michael J. Shinary, executive assistant to the U.S. Postmaster General, Washington, D.C., who will discuss community partnerships in substance abuse programs.

The Mann Award is presented to individuals working in the field of alcoholism and drug abuse whose work reflects the energy, dedication and focus exemplified by NCA Founder Mrs. Marty Mann. The award recognizes at least 10 years of contribution to education about alcoholism and drug abuse.
