ROCKLAND — “Ghosts on the Coast of Maine,” a program based on Carol Olivieri Schulte’s book by the same name, will be sponsored by the Rockland Public Library at 2 p.m. on Aug. 1, in the Basement Meeting Room. Admission is free.

Schulte will read from her book, including specific incidents that have occurred in this area of Maine. The stories are based in fact, with some fiction added, to protect the names of the people who spoke of these special occurrences…Maybe you know someone who was interviewed for the book?…

Another part of the program will be a 20-minute TV show, In Search Of, narrated by Leonard Nimoy. This documentary on psychic phenomena explores Schulte’s first personal ghostly experience in Port Clyde.

The author summers in Port Clyde, after spending the winter in Iowa. She began her debut as a writer with a weekly newspaper column titled, “Can You Beat That?” ” Ghosts on the Coast of Maine” (Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance) is her first book. She is presently working on another nonfiction book.

Adults and children are welcome to attend “Ghosts on the Coast of Maine,” but very small children might be frightened.
