ATKINSON — The Playmill, a business that has manufactured wooden toys and puzzles for several years in Atkinson, will go under the auctioneer’s hammer at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 26.
According to Sharon Kallweit, owner of the business, the entire stock, including equipment, patterns and even the trade name of the Playmill, will be included in the auction.
Kallweit told reporters that she felt it was time for her to move on to other things. She said she felt relief that she will no longer be running the business. According to Kallweit, there comes a time when everyone must move on and she said it was now her time.
Kallweit extended a personal invitation to anyone to attend the auction, even if it is just for curiosity. She said that there will be a “friends of the Playmill party” at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 28, for anyone who wishes to attend. She said the party would last throughout the evening. She recommended friends bring a dish if they wanted to stay for supper.
