Bangor police stopped a man on Union Street in Bangor Wednesday afternoon and discovered a stolen video camera in his car.

Shawn Audibert, 19, of Lincoln was stopped because he was thought to be operating a motor vehicle while his license was under suspension. While Audibert was sitting in the police cruiser he overheard police radio traffic about a theft of a camera from Sears.

According to the police report, Audibert told the officer that the camera could be found in the back of his car. The officer also discovered a car stereo which had tags from Rich’s Department Store. Audibert claimed that he bought the stereo at Ames in Massachusetts.

A Sears employee who reportedly saw Audibert playing with the camera later discovered the camera was missing.

Audibert was charged with Class C theft, Class E theft, operating a motor vehicle while his license was under suspension and illegal attachment of registration plates. He was taken to the Penobscot County Jail.

William Harnish, 30, 240 Center St., Old Town, was summoned by Bangor police Wednesday afternoon after he allegedly punched a man who was riding a bicycle on Hammond Street. Harnish was charged with assault and scheduled to appear in 3rd District Court on Aug. 14.

An Orono man who called a woman and allegedly told her “you’re dead” was summoned by Bangor police. Mark Fye, 25, of Talmar Woods reportedly had been ordered by a District Court judge Thursday morning to stop harassing the Bangor woman. He was charged with violation of a protection from harassment order.

Bill W. Pinkham, 22, Cherryfield, was arrested by Bangor police and charged with theft after he allegedly stole a cordless phone from Sears in Bangor.

Bruce Howard, 25, Winterport, was arrested in Bangor and charged with being a habitual offender. He was taken to Penobscot County Jail and was scheduled to appear in 3rd District Court on Aug. 27.
