BETHEL — The 11th annual Sudbury Canada Days, the summer heritage festival of the Bethel Historical Society, will be held Friday through Sunday, Aug. 10 through 12.

A reception to highlight a pictorial history project will be held Aug. 10 as part of Maine Street ’90 events.

The Children’s Parade will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11. After the parade, there will be children’s games, an art show, flower show, book fair, historical videos, logging and farming exhibits and craft demonstrations and exhibits.

A log-driver’s baked bean supper and old-time variety show also will be held.

An old-fashioned church service at the West Parish Congregational Church will be held at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 12. Flower, art and historical video shows will be held in the afternoon.

Sudbury Canada was the original name of Bethel before incorporation in 1796. It was one of several grants given by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for service in the Canada campaign of 1690. The original grantees were from Sudbury, Mass. Each year, the Bethel Historical Society honors Bethel’s 18th century heritage.
