WARREN — Two people were killed and a third seriously injured just after 4 p.m. Sunday when the vehicle in which they were riding went off Route 131, about a mile from Route 1, tore down a power pole and rolled over numerous times.
Assistant District Attorney Patricia Worth said the accident was caused by speed.
State police Trooper Dale York investigated the accident. At 10:30 p.m. state police reported that the next of kin had not been notified and the names would not be released.
The injured person, believed to be the driver, was taken by ambulance to Penobscot Bay Medical Center and was listed in serious condition.
