DEER ISLE — Haystack Mountain School of Crafts will hold it third annual island workshop beginning with registration at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1. Local artists and crafts people will lead the workshops. Dan Hodermarsky will teach drawing; Scott Goldberg, clay; Sarah Christie, spinning with a drop spindle; Joli Greene, basketry; Jeff Gammelin, stone masonry; and Doug Wilson, blacksmithing.
The cost of the workshop is $25 per person, and participants must be residents of Deer Isle, Stonington, Brooksville, Brooklin, Blue Hill, Penobscot, Sargentville or Sedgwick. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. The workshops will run until 5:30 p.m. with lunch and dinner included. To register, or for further information, call 348-2306.
