Bangor Savings Bank has announced that RUSSELL D. LUMLEY has been promoted to branch manager at the bank’s office on Hogan Road in Bangor. Lumley is a graduate of the University of Maine at Machias, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

SHARON GREENLEAF has joined Eastern Maine Development Corp. as chief financial officer. She is responsible for overseeing all finances associated with the more than 200 projects involving EMDC staff. Greenleaf earned a master’s degree in mathematics at the University of Maine.

Maine Public Service Co. of Presque Isle has announced the promotion of JOHN G. POLIQUIN to safety director. He joined the utility as right-of-way supervisor in 1981, and was promoted to assistant safety director in 1988. Born and raised in Sanford, Poliquin is a graduate of the University of Maine, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in forestry.

RICHARD ALLEN has been named director of the Maine Procurement Center, an affiliate of the Eastern Maine Development Corp. The procurement center helps Maine businesses market their products and services to the federal government. Allen graduated from New Hampshire-Rivier College, where he earned a master’s degree in international marketing.

Georgia-Pacific Corp. of Woodland has announced the promotion of JIM TAYLOR to area engineer for the plant’s kraft mill. Taylor will be responsible for the chip yard and the causticizing area. He joined Georgia-Pacific in 1987. Taylor received an associate’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Franklin Institute in Boston.

DAVID BOWLEY has been appointed vice president and operations manager at the Varney Agency Inc., an insurance agency in Bangor. Bowley has 22 years of background in insurance management, sales and claims. He will be responsible for the agency’s expansion of its commercial and financial services departments, the addition of branch offices in western and northern Maine, and management of the agency’s six present locations.
