The 90th annual reunion of the descendants of Jonathan and Abigail Riggs Tracy will be held Sunday, Aug. 19, at the school gymnasium in Steuben. A buffet luncheon will be held at noon.

The Waugh family reunion will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at the home of Carroll and Pat Pickard on Pleasant Hill, Hermon, rain or shine. All descendants of Harrison and Margaret (Rittal) Waugh of Levant are invited, including the Batchelders, Griffins, Parkhursts, Quinns, Eastmans and others. Bring your own lunch. Grills are available. The swimming pool will be open.

Joe and Betty Emerson of Indian River will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house given by their children from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, at the Addison Town Hall. Cards would be welcome.

The descendants of George Herbert Ames of Blanchard will meet for their fifth annual reunion from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Thayer Parkway on Park Street in Dover-Foxcroft. Bring family pictures to show. Beverages and sweets will be served.

The descendants of Jeremiah and Josephine Flewelling will hold their 18th annual reunion Sunday, Aug. 26, at the South Sangerville Grange Hall in Sangerville. Please bring your favorite casserole or dessert for the sit-down buffet dinner. The business meeting will start at 11 a.m. before the dinner.

The annual Gray family reunion will be held Saturday, Aug. 18, for the descendants of Aluertie C. Gray at the home of Foster Gray in Dedham. Please bring a casserole, salad or dessert. All relatives are welcome and may bring one guest.

The McLaughlin, Caswell and Lyons family reunion will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at the Sno-Rovers Clubhouse in Medway. Bring a place setting and a favorite casserole or dessert. Dinner will be at noon. Bring a favorite recipe for the McLaughlin cookbook for 1991. There will be games, horseshoes, a hay ride and a Scotch auction.

Tiny and Jean Currier of Bangor will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at their home, 177 Queen City Trailer Park, Bangor. All relatives, friends and neighbors are welcome.

Mildred (Tripp) MacDonald, born in Old Town and a longtime resident of Lincoln, will celebrate her 90th birthday Aug. 17. She would appreciate a shower of cards from old and new friends at her home at Pleasant View Boarding Home, 74 Taylor St., Lincoln 04457.

The Worcester Family Association of Maine will hold its first reunion beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at the Congregational Church, 35 Church St., Brewer. Descendants of David Woster of Vinalhaven and of the Rev. William Worcester who lived in Maine, including all spellings — Worster, Wooster, Woster and Worcester — are welcome. Bring photos, family Bibles, journals, diaries, military records and other family-history items. Grace E. Lee of Route 116, Medway 04460, has found some wicks for oil burners. She has four new packages of wicks; three of 3-foot, and one with enough for one burner. She said she saw a Maine Street item this spring in which people asked for wicks of that sort, but she was unable to find them at the time. Tel. 746-5531.

Russ Hofvendahl is writing a book about his experiences hoboing across America in the 1930s, and is interested in locating verses of “Big Rock Candy Mountain,” the traditional hobo folk ballad.
