FORT KENT — A 25-year-old Presque Isle man was bound over to the Aroostook County Superior Court on five charges Wednesday in 1st District Court at Fort Kent by District Court Judge Ronald A. Daigle.
Roy Niles of 293 Main St., Presque Isle, waived a probable cause hearing in District Court and was bound over on his previously set bail of $10,000.
The five charges against Niles all stem from a 45-minute high-speed chase July 12. The chase involved five police vehicles and all received some damage.
The five charges against Niles were: being a habitual motor vehicle offender, aggravated criminal mischief, eluding an officer, passing a roadblock and reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon.
The complaints all were filed by Deputy Sheriff Michael Bouchard, a police officer whom Niles allegedly attempted to run over on July 12. Other officers involved in the chase were Troopers Thomas Pelletier and Dale Keegan, Deputy Sheriff Darrell Crandall Jr. and Game Warden Gary Pelletier.
