Olympia Snowe can be replaced

Rep. Olympia Snowe’s attack on Sen. Mitchell, as reported in the Aug.1 Bangor Daily News, was deeply saddening to me.

In 1988, I voted for both Snowe and Mitchell. Until this time, I had believed that both Snowe and Mitchell were representing my views and beliefs in Washington. But I would never attack a colleague of mine the way Snowe attacked Mitchell.

If Snowe continues to behave in this manner, I will have no choice but to vote against her for re-election in November. Snowe must remember that she can easily be replaced, where Mitchell cannot be. Gary Remsberg Bar Harbor
