HOULTON — Fifteen employees of Houlton Regional Hospital, with a combined employment of more than 300 years, were honored recently as they retired from the hospital.
The employees, who each took advantage of the hospital’s early-retirement program, were honored at a dinner at the Shiretown Atrium Restaurant and presented with plaques and silver bowls in appreciation of their work at the hospital.
Those who were honored and their years of employment were: Elizabeth Higgins, 43 years; Dorothy MacDonald, 31 years; Mildred Kirlin, 30 years; Shirley Holmes, 24 years; Ann Saunders, 23 years; Marion Hoar, 22 years; Juanita Levesque, 21 years; Anita Blanchette, 20 years; Mary Bither 19 years; Vera Blake, 18 years; Vernabelle Morgan, 18 years; Doris Hogan, 12 years; Avis Durost, 11 years; and Beulah Anderson, nine years.
